Joyce DiDonato’s Songplay, a Grammy Award-winning album, has already toured across the US and Europe to great acclaim.

“DiDonato conjured a nightclub atmosphere that was at once relaxed and rarefied, improbable and utterly convincing. Songplay fell into a groove of its own singular making, and pulled a grateful, at times wonderstruck, audience into its warm embrace.”

San Francisco Classical Voice

A deeply personal project born from DiDonato’s childhood love of singing, Songplay seamlessly blends Baroque arias and American songbook classics, two seemingly disparate worlds, into a cohesive musical journey.

In this tour, she will be joined by an ensemble composed by pianist and arranger Craig Terry, who will also lead, bassist Gregg August, drummer Jimmy Madison, trumpetist Charlie Porter and bandoneonist Lautaro Greco.

The performances will take place on June 4 at Shanghai Concert Hall, June 6 at NCPA (Tongzhou New hall), and June 8 at Hong Kong City Hall. Additionally, on May 31 she will sing a recital at Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, once again with Craig Terry by her side.
