This month, Joyce DiDonato and celebrated pianist Craig Terry bring a thoughtfully curated recital to venues all over Europe. Bridging centuries of music, emotion, and storytelling, the program is a journey through four powerful works.

The program opens with Claude Debussy’s sensual and evocative Chansons de Bilitis, and continues with the rarely performed and deeply expressive Fünf Lieder by Alma Mahler, as well as Joseph Haydn’s mythological cantata, Arianna a Naxos

The program concludes with Jake Heggie’s Camille Claudel: Into the Fire, a song cycle inspired by the life of the brilliant and tragic French sculptor, blending drama, tenderness, and soaring lyricism. It’s a piece Joyce has performed all over the world to great acclaim. A performance, recorded live at Wigmore Hall in 2018, is available from Warner Classics.

Teatro alla Scala welcomes the duo on May 19, followed by performances at the Bergen International Festival on May 25, the Hungarian State Opera on May 28, Bulgaria Hall on May 31, and Les Arts Valéncia on June 5
