Joyce DiDonato reprises her acclaimed interpretation of Schubert’s Winterreise this March and April, bringing her artistry to audiences in Antwerp, London, and Berlin. While the beloved cycle of 24 songs was written with a male artist in mind, Joyce’s Winterreise tells the story from the perspective of the protagonist’s lost love. Of her live album of the work, made in 2021 at Carnegie Hall with Yannick Nézet-Séguin at the piano, San Francisco Classical Voice said, “DiDonato has never sounded better. She moves flawlessly from mere whispers of sound to fortes with commendable ease, and dispenses the few quick figures that Schubert throws at her with the fluidity of a bel canto specialist.”

Joyce and pianist Maxim Emelyanychev begin in Antwerp on March 26 at De Signal, before two performances at London’s Wigmore Hall on March 27 and 28, followed by a performance at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden on April 11
