‘Into the Fire’ with the Concertgebouw Orchestra

On January 8 and 9, Joyce DiDonato joins the Concertgebouw Orchestra for the Dutch premiere of Into the Fire, Jake Heggie’s bittersweet song cycle about the French artist Camille Claudel, whose fiery relationship with Auguste Rodin led her to ruin, scandal, and eventual confinement to an asylum. Into the Fire will open the program, which also includes Berlioz’s thrilling Symphonie fantastique. The dramatic program will be performed under the baton of Sir Antonio Pappano.
