The London Philharmonic Orchestra will celebrate its season opening on September 25th at Royal Festival Hall, with a program featuring Joyce DiDonato singing Berlioz’ La Mort de Cléopâtre. This concert highlights the theme of the LPO’s season, with a focus on “memory” and how that is reflected in music. Additional works on the evening include Barber’s Medea’s Death of Vengeance and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 (“Eroica”).

Joyce previously recorded Berlioz’ Cleopatra on Warner Classics / Erato with John Nelson and the Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg, along with the composer’s Roméo et Juliette. Streaming links and additional information about the album can be found at the following link.
