On Saturday, September 12, at 1:30 pm ET / 7:30 pm CEST, Joyce DiDonato stars in the Metropolitan Opera’s new innovative series, Met Stars Live in Concert, coming to audiences live from a unique venue—the converted Jahrhunderthalle on the northern Rhine, an imposing former industrial pavilion that has in recent years been used for theatrical events.

Joyce has developed a new concert program just for this new medium, “I Dream a World,” featuring a diverse three-part program that explores themes of loss and connection, despair, and hope. Monteverdi, Berlioz, Handel, and Rogers & Hammerstein are among the composers featured in this unique concert.

In collaboration with Belgian interior designer and antique and art dealer Axel Vervoordt, the recital will feature meditative artwork by Mexican contemporary artist Bosco Sodi, setting the stage for this multimedia experience. Joyce will be accompanied by Carrie-Ann Matheson on piano, and the chamber ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro.

Following the performance, join Ms. DiDonato for a live Q&A session on Facebook, where she will answer questions from the audience.

Tickets for the concert are $20, and the performance will remain available on demand for 12 days. To learn more about Joyce’s upcoming “I Dream a World” recital, follow her on Instagram and Facebook.
