Joyce DiDonato and Yannick Nézet-Séguin reunite this month to reprise Schubert’s iconic song-cycle, Winterreise (“Winter’s Journey”). After their acclaimed performances last season of this poignant work, the Independent Kansas City called their performance an inspiring special event, “where you rarely get to see two musical superstars pull off a work of this magnitude.”

Mr. Nézet-Séguin will set down his baton to accompany Ms. DiDonato for concerts at Raoul-Jobin Hall in Québec on December 8 (sold-out), at Alexander Hall in Princeton on December 11 (sold-out), and at Carnegie Hall in New York City on December 15. The performance at Carnegie Hall (December 15) will be streamed live via medici.tv beginning at 2 pm (EST). For more information about the live webcast, click here.

Ms. DiDonato will lead a free masterclass on December 9 from 11 am to 1 pm, at the Henri-Gagnon Room (Louis-Jacques-Casault Building) at Laval University. It is offered in partnership with the Ville de Québec, in collaboration with the Conservatoire de musique de Québec and the Faculty of Music of Laval University.

But “what happens to the winter’s journey,” DiDonato asks, “when we feel it through the heart of the one who was the impetus of such agony and despair? The survivor. The one left behind.”
