New production of 'Norma' at The Metropolitan Opera

Joyce DiDonato’s 2017/18 season launches in New York City, where she will star as Adalgisa in a new production of Bellini’s Norma at The Metropolitan Opera. The performances, which also open The Met’s season, take place September 25 & 28 and October 3, 7, 11, 16 & 20. Sondra Radvanovsky sings the title role, with Marina Rebeka in the last two performances, and tenor Joseph Calleja sings Pollione. Carlo Rizzi conducts the Met Opera Orchestra for all dates, with a spectacular staging from Sir David McVicar. Ms. DiDonato returns to the Met stage later in the season, to sing the title role in Massenet’s Cendrillon.
