La Damnation de Faust with the Berlin Philharmonic
This spring, Joyce DiDonato sings the role of Marguerite in a series of concert performances of Berlioz’s La Damnation de Faust with the acclaimed Berlin Philharmonic, led by Sir Simon Rattle. Performances take place March 29 and April 5 at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, and April 10 & 11 at the Philharmonie in Berlin. Ms. DiDonato is joined by a phenomenal cast for these concerts, including Charles Castronovo in the title role and Ludovic Tézier as Méphistophélès.
Joyce will also join musicians from the Berlin Phil, including principal oboe Albrecht Mayer, principal bass Matthew McDonald, and horn player Fergus McWilliam for a Live Lounge! Q&A event hosted by horn player Sarah Willis, on March 28. Submit your questions via the Live Lounge Chat window online.
The April 11 performance will be streamed live online via the Philharmonic’s Digital Concert Hall, and Joyce can also be heard singing the aria “D’amour l’ardente flame” from the opera on her album ReJOYCE!
