It's a big week for Joyce! 

Earlier this week Joyce joined composer Jake Heggie and CEO Keith Cerny to launch Dallas Opera’s 2015-16 season announcement at a kick-off event. The launch also featured the talented musicians of the Highland Park High School Band, making it a pep rally of operatic proportions! Joyce will create the role of Arden Scott in Heggie’s Great Scott next season in Dallas, with a libretto from Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally. Great Scott is the story of an opera star (Scott) that returns to her hometown opera company to save it from ruin. Ms. DiDonato is joined by a world-class cast for this new work, including Frederica von Stade, Nathan Gunn, and Ailyn Pérez, with Patrick Summers leading the Dallas Opera Orchestra. Performances take place October 30 and November 1, 4, 7 & 15.

The International Opera Awards nominations were also released this week, and Joyce is the only singer to be nominated individually in two categories, for her album ‘Stella di Napoli’ as well as a nomination for Female Singer of the Year. Congrats to all the nominees!
