ReJOYCE, the new album by Joyce DiDonato is out now

An album produced by and dedicated to Joyce’s fans from around the world.

This 2CD collection marks mezzo soprano Joyce DiDonato’s first 10 years with Erato/Warner Classics. As she announced online to her fans: “Ten years of recording hasn’t just been about me, it’s been about me and you, the listeners.” She then invited the public to suggest names for her album, to select its content and provide quotes and photos, including the cover photo, by fan Xenia Varelas. The result is ReJOYCE!, 31 tracks ranging from Baroque opera and bel canto to Strauss, Jake Heggie, Rodgers & Hammerstein and ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’. More

Hear this beautiful woman for the first time ever tonite at the Proms – what a woman – what a voice. One minute I was in tears and the next beaming with smiles. Amazing simply amazing. X

I have to confess I’d never heard of Joyce. Now I Have and I am smitten. The Last Night at the Proms performances were stunning ( add any other superlatives you wish ). I sat in my lounge mesmerised and oblivious to anything else. As though I was in the audience at the Last Night I cheered and applauded with such gusto that my three dogs went hysterical! I congratulated them on their support for Joyce…We in South Africa saw the proms concert on the BBC over the festive season and how that made the world turn at a faster rate.
Thanks to the BBC and all concerned but, especially, Joyce. You have helped to make my 70 years on the planet extra special. Thank you.

I do not normally like soloists, but last night, at the Proms, I was smitten by Joyce’s voice and presentations. And. What a looker.
And now I have a rerun on the Andrew Marr Show, wonderful.

    I have to get a recording. X
