'I Capuleti e i Montecchi' in Barcelona

Joyce DiDonato revisits the role of Romeo in Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi, opening this month at Barcelona’s historic Gran Teatre del Liceu. Her past portrayals of the role have been heralded as “flawless” (Bachtrack) and “a triumph” (Online Merker). These not-to-be-missed performances take place May 17, 20, 23, 25 & 28 and June 1, and feature spectacular casts including Patrizia Ciofi and Ekaterina Siurina alternating as Giulietta, Antonino Siragusa and Celso Albelo as Tebaldo, and Simón Orfila sings Lorenzo. Riccardo Frizza leads the Symphony Orchestra and Chorus of the Gran Teatre del Liceu for these performances, featuring a staging by Vincent Boussard.
