Joyce DiDonato sings the title role in Handel’s striking opera Alcina, on a concert tour this fall with renowned baroque orchestra The English Concert, led by Harry Bicket. Gramophone magazine said in this role Ms. DiDonato “is superb: Her Alcina is a complex, feminine creature, vain, and vindictive. Performances take place October 10 at The Barbican in London (sold out!), the Palacio de Congresos Y Auditorio de Navarra in Pamplona on October 12, at the Auditorio Nacional de Musica in Madrid October 14, Vienna’s Theater an der Wien on October 17,  the Theatre des Champs-Élysées in Paris October 20, and New York City’s landmark venue Carnegie Hall on October 26.
