Joyce to headline Last Night of the Proms

On Saturday, September 7th, Joyce DiDonato will join violinist Nigel Kennedy and American conductor Maris Alsop leading the BBC Orchestra and Chorus for the Last Night of the Proms in London ~ a highlight of the International Music Calendar, and one of the grandest celebrations of classical music in the world. Watched by nearly 2 million viewers around the globe, it is an event not to be missed. Joyce will sing arias of Handel, Rossini and Massenet, as well as the standards, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, “Danny Boy”, and following tradition, she will lead the thousands of Prommers in “Rule, Britannia!” More information can be found here.

    You and Marin on the same stage at the same time! I may faint. The tickets are given by a sort of lottery so my fingers are crossed (that exwplains the typiong). Go girl! I’m looking forward to it!
